Once again, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is in bad shape. Her drinking landed her in the hospital after getting hit by a car, and “Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that she may just lose the one friend she has left in the world.
Calling Jack (Peter Bergman) to come to her rescue may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but Nikki’s going to learn that Jackie-Boy is done being her soft place to land. It’s time for Mrs. Newman to take a long look in the mirror and see exactly what she’s doing to her friends, family, and especially herself. Being an addict himself gives Jack the perspective needed to push Nikki back on the straight and narrow path.
The deal to get out of the hospital without anyone knowing is that Nikki has to follow Jack’s every command, and it starts with getting back on the 12-step meeting bandwagon. They leave the hospital and head out to seek an Alcohol Anonymous meeting.
Will going to a meeting while still drunk help Nikki realize that she needs to sober up? One would certainly hope so. But, alas, this is Nikki Newman we’re talking about and all she wants is to get into an Athletic Club room and raid the mini bar. Luckily, her good buddy Jack is there to intervene and takes all the alcohol with him when he leaves. If Nikki wants to continue her downward spiral, she’ll have to do it in public.
