On The Young and the Restless, spoilers for the week of May 27 – May 31 focus on hot mess situations, precarious mental health conditions, and much more.
The Jordan Secret Goes Bust
There’s no way Jordan (Colleen Zenk) can stay in Victor’s one-woman prison much longer. Cole (J. Eddie Peck) knows, and he tells Michael (Christian LeBlanc). Michael wants to save Victor (Eric Braeden) from himself, so he somehow gets his boss away from the ranch so they can grab Jordan and take her to a real prison. That’s where she can stew for the rest of her life…or when she figures out how to escape again.
Of course, Victor is on to them, and he catches them mid-heist. So now he’s forced to make a decision about Jordan’s future. Does he agree to go with Michael and Cole’s plan? If he does, that must be why, later in the week, he holds Michael accountable for his actions. Victor, being Victor, will probably take out any anger on Michael should something go terribly wrong. Which it always does.
Summer Breeze
After weeks and weeks of an extremely tense, intense, and scared Mama Bear Summer Newman (Allison Lanier — who’s nominated for a 2024 Daytime Emmy), she finally starts easing up on those emotions. In fact, she also starts easing up on some of her recent decisions. She has a change of heart with Claire (Hayley Erin). After people put in good words and see how well she relates to Harrison (Redding Munsell), Summer gives Claire the benefit of the doubt.
Shockingly, Summer doesn’t stop there. She even calls a truce with Sally (Courtney Hope — who’s nominated for a 2024 Daytime Emmy). SALLY. A couple of years ago, they were mortal enemies. Now, Summer and Sally, apparently, set aside their differences. Does this have anything to do with Sally making a power move? Are she and Summer about to start working together? After all, Sally has been thinking about making a career pivot or yo-yo lately.
Odds and Ends
Ashley’s mental health situation is precarious. Dr. Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins — who talks about working with Eileen Davidson here) and her family hope to support her through this trying time. However, Ashley’s alters make it difficult, especially when they collectively interfere with her treatment. Thankfully, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci (Beth Maitland) arrive in Paris later in the week. Are they prepared for what’s ahead? Will they try to figure out what really triggered Ashley’s DID?
Jack (Peter Bergman) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott — who’s being honored at the 2024 Daytime Emmys) haven’t seen each other since that train wreck of a night when Nikki finally decided to go to rehab. Well, she has returned to Genoa City, and she’s looking great. Look for Jack and Nikki to reach an understanding.
This understanding might have to do with Diane (Susan Walters) finally issuing an ultimatum to Jack about Nikki. Of course, Jack’s wife is also worried about her husband’s sobriety. Should Diane worry about Jack’s recent lapse? Will it lead him back to a bad path?
