Next Week on The Young and the Restless

Claire and Holden Team Up

The week of September 1-5 is a big one for the recently promoted Claire (Hayley Erin). Now that Newman Publishing is moving over to Chancellor, she’ll take on a junior executive role with the potential to run the whole division in the future. It won’t just keep her challenged; it’ll also keep her connected to her dad.

Having said all of that, in the near future, she’s busy for entirely different reasons. First, Claire catches Kyle (Michael Mealor) off guard. If Kyle asks her to marry him, like he’s planning to do (he already bought the ring), maybe she rejects his proposal (for now). After all, she’s still processing his latest confession.

But the biggest thing on Claire’s to-do list is to team up with Holden (Nathan Owens) against Audra (Zuleyka Silver). Vengeful Claire is back — will she use any of what she learned from crazy Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) to get back at her nemesis? On Thursday, Sept. 4, look for the latest Newman to channel her grandpa when she loses her cool with Audra. Is Claire versus Audra going to be a worthy rivalry? And what does her collaboration with Holden mean for them?

True Colors

At the beginning of the week, teasers suggest that Jack (Peter Bergman) sees Diane’s true colors. What does that mean? More importantly, it’ll be Jack’s reaction to seeing these true colors that’ll be the most important part of this equation. It may make him love Diane (Susan Walters) even more, as long as she’s using her powers to protect the Abbotts.

Later in the week, Jack and Diane share words of wisdom with Kyle. At this point, why even bother giving their son advice? He never listens.

Odds & Ends

In other news, Michael (Christian LeBlanc) is presented with a new opportunity, which is a fantastic development. If Victor (Eric Braeden) doesn’t want him, maybe someone else would like to use his considerable legal skills. Maybe Cane (Billy Flynn) enlists his help. If this happened, this would make us understand why he insisted that Michael and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) join everybody in Nice earlier this summer. We’re still wondering why those two were there.

Speaking of Victor, he probably doesn’t think that Cane really called off his corporate raid of Genoa City’s family businesses. A a result, look for The Moustache to prepare the Newmans for war.

Finally, at the beginning of the week, Audra asks for a second chance. That ship may have sailed. Even if she tells him the truth about her intentions with Kyle and Victor and Vibrante, Nate may want nothing to do with her. Has she lost Nate for good?
