The Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of October 7-11 focus on an investigation that transitions from accident to murder. Also, Victor’s up to no good as he continues to mess with people’s lives.
The Detective Is In
In a bit of a whiplash scenario, once Chance (Conner Floyd) wisely quit Abbott-Chancellor, he returned to his old haunts. If he’s launching an investigation into Heather’s (Vail Bloom — who discusses Heather’s status here) death, then it must be official. He’s back on the force. Now, he’s the one looking into what happened on that fateful night of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Heather’s confrontation.
Speaking of which, one of Chance’s first decisions as the lead of the investigation is to question his ex-girlfriend. Yes, He interrogates Sharon. Will she hold up under the pressure?

Mess and Chaos
Nick (Joshua Morrow — who took a pic with his son Crew and Crew’s TV dad) does what he always does. He tries to be everything to everyone. And as a result, he finds himself caught between Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Sharon. These women are notorious enemies, and it’s only gotten worse.
Phyllis vowed to inform everyone about how unhinged Sharon had been to Heather, Daniel (Michael Graziadei), and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) in the last few weeks. How in the world will Nick play mediator between Phyllis and Sharon? Especially since Sharon seems more attached to Nick in this current mentally unhealthy version of her. In fact, when she receives mixed signals from Nick, how will she react? Should Nick watch his back?

Odds and Ends
Look for Daniel to have to break bad news to Lucy. How will the teen take it when she finds out that the police will be treating her mom’s case as a murder investigation?
Meanwhile, every week in Genoa City, there has to be a supersized dose of business intrigue. Next week, Victor (Eric Braeden) continues to either mess with people’s lives or screw them over. In the “screw over” department, there’s Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Victor suddenly changes the rules with her. Does he finally let her know she won’t be getting back her CEO title anytime soon? Also, he causes mischief for the Abbotts once again. This toxicity has to backfire on him at some point, right?
Finally, Nate (Sean Dominic) must follow up on that mysterious Amy Lewis (now Valarie Pettiford) text. Because when he returns home, he has surprising news. What does this mean? And how big is this news?
