Next week, on The Young and the Restless, Christmas will naturally be a time for characters to celebrate the true meaning of the holidays. However, for certain residents of Genoa City, such as the Newmans and the Abbotts, it’ll be a time for drama, desperation, defensive moves, and daring acts of revenge and manipulation. No big deal.

Please note: There will be one classic episode of Y&R. On Christmas, the show airs a holiday-related episode from December 23, 2010. That’s when Victor is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past. Any chance those ghosts are still free? Victor may need another visit in 2025.

Key Takeaways

  • Victor’s rage over Nikki’s loyalty fuels what could be a tense Newman Christmas.
  • Nick forces Matt Clark’s hand, setting the stage for dangerous consequences.
  • Chelsea delivers an ultimatum that could change Adam’s future at Newman Media.
  • Victoria worries about Claire and Holden, but Claire proves she’s firmly in control.
  • The Abbotts find holiday harmony as Kyle and Billy align, and Sally shares crucial intel.

Next Week on The Young and the Restless

A Very Special, Ragey, and Revenge-filled Christmas for the Newmans

Victor (Eric Braeden), of course, takes it upon himself to be the injured party in the war he’s waging with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and his family. He can’t believe that his wife is upset or worried about Jack and his family’s company.

Especially after what he did in that hotel room that one night (Jack did nothing but get Nikki to hop back on the wagon and almost killed himself in the process).

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is beyond upset with Victor and has been contemplating letting her husband feel the consequences of his actions. But, no, that’s not Victor’s hot take. Instead, he is fueled with rage about Nikki’s loyalty to Jack. Will the two be able to work out their differences?

Maybe, considering that by the time Christmas Day rolls around, the teasers reveal that Victor and Nikki are reminded of the true meaning of the holiday.

Here’s Where The Revenge Comes Into Play

Unfortunately, Nick (Joshua Morrow) might not have time to sit down for a proper dinner or to open the gifts. That’s because he has someone to take care of. Nick forces Matt Clark’s hand.

Yes, Matt (Roger Howarth) is in town. And we finally know that he truly is Matt. Does the Shadow Room owner make the first move? Is that what triggers Nick to take action?

In other Newman news, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) continues to worry about Claire’s connection to Holden (Nathan Owens). Victoria might not need to worry about anything. Claire (Hayley Erin) appears to have everything under control. She chose herself, and she manages to not let Kyle (Michael Mealor) or Holden forget that.

Finally, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan, who’s comparing herself to DAYS’s Kristen) gives Adam (Mark Grossman) an ultimatum. It really feels like she no longer can stomach having to do Victor’s bidding with no questioning or dissension allowed. So, this ultimatum may involve leaving Newman Media, and Adam (does he want a relationship with Victor or a friendship with Jack more?) may have a problem or two with that.

Odds & Ends

In the world of the Abbotts, there’s a thawing of a formerly icy family bond. Kyle and Billy (Jason Thompson) find themselves on common ground, which should have everybody saying (or singing, since it’s Christmas), “Hallelujah.” Meanwhile, Traci (Beth Maitland) thankfully remains home for the holidays. Look for her to share words of wisdom with Diane (Susan Walters).

Elsewhere, Sally (Courtney Hope) is on top of the world. Her launch party for Abbott Communications had a definite beginning and an equally definite ending. There was some AI drama with the Newmans versus the Abbotts, but it wasn’t enough to steal hers and Billy’s thunder. Next week, Sally shares valuable intel with Jack and Billy. What information would be valuable enough to satisfy the brothers?

Finally, Lily (Christel Khalil) finds Cane (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) too close for comfort, even though Cane has called out Phyllis as an enemy he will go to war with. How will Lily respond?
