The Young and the Restless spoilers (YR) reveal a shattered bottle of perfume brings up long-buried a memories and regrets.
All Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) wants is a nice, hot shower before work. Of course, Nick (Joshua Morrow), Genoa City’s newest handyman, has their bathroom all torn up for renovations. Which means, the shower stops working right in the middle of Chelsea’s shower, and she instantly calls for him.
Mr. Fixit arrives, and randomly fixes the problem, which leads to a steamy shower make out session (yawn). When they get out, in the disaster area called a bathroom, Nick knocks something off the crowded vanity, which shatters, and Chelsea freaks out (in her head).
Nick notices she’s upset, and she tells him he broke her special perfume. She neglects to tell him the perfume was a gift from Adam (Justin Hartley). Well, he’ll simply get her a new one, but of course, Chelsea says he can’t because it’s out of production.
What better way to cry over spilled perfume than to go speak to not only Adam’s ex, but also Nick’s ex, Sharon (Sharon Case)? Chelsea finds herself debating the merits and drawbacks of both men with her unlikely confidant at Crimson Lights.
Adam was so wild and reckless and nothing was ever enough for him. He loved Chelsea so much, and she simply cannot let go of him. She wouldn’t even move out of the penthouse because she couldn’t stand to part with those memories of him. (Sure, why not bring his bother to live there instead?)
The perfume was a permanent, constant reminder of Adam along with the penthouse. Then, Sharon reminds her she also has Connor, Adam’s son, and, yes, Chelsea admits she does.
Nick is solid and dependable, and Chelsea has grown up since Adam’s death. He’s everything she needs. No really. He is! He’s perfect… well, nobody’s perfect.
Chelsea arrives home a few cups of coffee heavier but much lighter of spirit, and she’s surprised to find Nick (complete with his toolbelt) there already. He presents her with a brand new bottle of her impossible-to-find perfume because everything’s possible if you’re a Newman. He even has additional boxes coming her way.
Of course, now that she’s remembering Adam so vividly, this is the perfect time for him to pop back up in Genoa City… Nobody’s ever really dead in daytime, are they?
