We followed quite a yarn on The Young and the Restless, and even saw the tie-off of a few loose ends!

Summer was in full swing in Genoa City, starting off with the party celebrating Cassie’s official adoption by Nick and Sharon. Gloria took center stage, as well, organizing her first big event as Missus Abbott… even as her sons struggled with a not-so-hidden secret.

A young woman with the season’s namesake had her own trials to contend with, too, when Summer Newman struggled with a particularly potent variety of heartbreak. There are more threads coming, and they’re leading to a complex tapestry! Here are the spoilers!

Y&R Weekly Teasers

The spotlight shines squarely on Gloria this week, starting with her admission to John about Michael and Kevin. The woman’s perpetually scheming nature is highlighted, too, as she and her younger son work together to cover their tracks.

Several surprises are also in store, with some of them being more pleasant than others… like an unexpected visit to Michael by way of an enormous Christmas present.

The Young and the Restless’s History

Y&R made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades’ worth of storylines has kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations, to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism, to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), Y&R knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting, and soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

Y&R is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B). Y&R airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
