The Young and the Restless spoilers (YR) reveal a short business trip changed everything for Victoria!
At Newman Enterprises you snooze, you lose, and that’s just what happened to Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Never mind that a quick, 24-hour business trip isn’t necessarily snoozing.
In that short time, Victor (Eric Braeden) not only hired Ashley (Eileen Davidson), but also gave her Brash & Sassy. Plus, Victoria finds that Ashley has free reign over her office! Not cool dad… erm Victor.
While Victoria’s feathers are ruffled by the whiplash inducing changes, Ashley obviously enjoys watching her one-time step-daughter sweat. Plus, she has no qualms at all telling Victoria that B&S isn’t doing well, so she’s making dramatic changes.
Ashley wants them to get along and set a good example to the men in their lives, but Victoria isn’t feeling it. Ultimately, she decides to work from home (take a mental health day).
Victoria confronts Victor. She feels he’s up to his old tricks trying to one-up Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). However, Victor, older and wiser, calmly assures his irate daughter that isn’t the case at all.
Perhaps she needs to look at the bigger picture. She has so much on her plate (like JT and Reed) and hiring somebody as talented as Ashley can help push B&S into the front of the industry. In fact, Ashley’s career is meteoric right now — Innovator of the Year and all. Victor had no choice but to snap her up as soon as she became available.
Ultimately, Victor is grooming Victoria to head up all of Newman Enterprises in the (near) future. That requires sacrifices and bigger thinking… There’s no way The Moustache is doing this because he doesn’t approve of his daughter’s most recent choice in men… Nope. None.
Despite his well-reasoned arguments, Victoria isn’t convinced — she doesn’t trust her old man. She decides to put an ocean between herself and that “wicked witch” and plans yet another business trip to Paris to check on Abby (Melissa Ordway) and make sure Ashley isn’t unduly influencing her daughter against her.
Once again, JT (Thad Luckinbill) remains stuck in Genoa City with the kids while Victoria jet sets, but that’s the life he’s signed up for… right?
