The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, July 31, 2020 end the month and Newman family week with the father of all reruns. Victor comes face to face with the father who abandoned him. Much yelling commences. Victor has met his match!
Plus, Sharon hides from Cameron the stalker, and Nikki steps in to protect what’s hers. This episode first aired on November 21, 2003.
Whenever Victor (Eric Braeden) is caught doing something bad – manipulating his children, cheating on his wives, dirty business dealings, or a flat-out felony – his go-to excuse is, “You don’t understand. My father abandoned me and my mother left me in an orphanage and I went up to ask for more gruel and they made me sing show tunes and, don’t you understand, my sad childhood excuses absolutely everything!”
You know what they say in writing: Show, don’t tell. So, first YR showed us Victor’s sad mother, Cora, played by Oscar-winner Dorothy McGuire. But she died. So now it’s time to meet Victor’s bitter father, played by another Oscar winner, George Kennedy.
Victor yells at Albert for being such a terrible father. But, here’s the plot twist: Albert yells back. He isn’t falling for Victor’s volume. Or his whining.
Sharon is being stalked by a bad guy named Cameron. (Sharon is very prone to stalking.) She tries to handle the problem on her own, but it isn’t going well. Sharon doesn’t want to ask Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) for help. But Nikki isn’t one for waiting to be asked.
Things escalate, and, eventually, Sharon and Nikki end up doing a practice run for the day when Sharon will need to do the same favor for Nikki and Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Yup, Cameron is a dead man. And his body ends up getting dragged around town by some very familiar faces. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
