The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, May 4, 2020, takes you back in time nearly 40 whole years. Victor Newman was young — or as Nikki said — just the right age. And Nikki Reed was absolutely smitten but couldn’t admit it.

Nikki Reed (Melody Thomas Scott) loved being a stripper at The Bayou and was intrigued by the man she met who redecorated her dressing room. She’s even more intrigued on Monday when she visits a ranch “out in the country” to be interviewed for a book by Colonel Douglas Austin (Michael Evans).
She is surprised (or not) to see Colonel Austin’s butler and all-around handyman is the man she knows from The Bayou and wonders if he suggested the Colonel interview her for his book. The man tells her he may have.

Nikki Knows What’s Up
Soon, Nikki is offended when the Colonel wants to know all her hopes and dreams and offers her anything in the world. She thinks he is propositioning her and says she is ready to leave, but then the butler mentions horses and she says she’s never seen her up close before.
Of course, she has and of course, the butler is The Great Victor Newman and he just wanted to know if Nikki would like him for himself and not all his money. As soon as Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki leave for the stables, the Colonel knew that it was Nikki tricking Victor and she knows exactly who this man is. After all, horses are his weakness.
A Love Story Is Born
In the stables, Victor questions if Nikki had really never seen a horse up close before. She then admires all the trophies with the name Victor Newman on them. The “butler” tells her Victor Newman is the former owner, but he can help set up a meeting between them. Nikki is intrigued and can’t wait to meet the man she knows is really standing before her eyes. And a soap classic couple was born… The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
