The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, June 8, 2020 kick off a week dedicated to love, love me do by featuring an episode from July of 1986, where Victor put the full-court press on Ashley, Nikki dallied with his brother, Matt, and Lauren’s mom made herself a new conquest.
Victor (Eric Braeden) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) first fell in love when she wasn’t in her right mind. That explains a lot, doesn’t it?
Ashley had just learned that John (Jerry Douglas) wasn’t her biological father, and the shock and horror of it drove her to leave Genoa City, develop amnesia, and become a waitress in a trashy diner (not unlike the diner where Marge was later found working; Genoa City is surrounded by trashy diners, it would seem). Victor found Ashley, brought her home, and they fell in love… the first time. Now they’re at it again. And Ashley is seemingly saner. But is she? Is she really?
You may have heard that Victor grew up in an orphanage. He’s mentioned it once or twice. You may have also heard that Victor’s mother, Cora, chose to abandon Victor, but keep and raise his younger brother, Matt (Robert Parucha).
Matt eventually made his way to Genoa City, where he decided he liked his brother’s cushy lifestyle. He also decided he liked his brother’s cushy ex-wife, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). And we see that on Monday.
Lauren (Tracey Bregman) was abandoned by her mother, too. Only, unlike Victor, she didn’t grow up in an orphanage, but with her doting Daddy, Neil (not Kristoff St. John, but Jim Storm). So she didn’t whine nearly as much about it. Eventually, Lauren’s mama, Johanna (Days Of Our Lives veteran Susan Seaforth Hays) returned to town… and caught the eye of Jack’s (Peter Bergman) dad. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
