Is Ashland pulling a fast one? The Young and the Restless spoilers tease he’s dying – or at least that’s what he says. We have to wonder if it is true or if he’s just mimicking Sally.
Would a powerful man like Ashland (Richard Burgi) really stoop so low as to fake an illness? Not just any illness but a deadly one. Oh, and say it will take him out in the next few months? Yes! Yes, we do think good ol’ Ash is taking a page out of Sally’s L.A. playbook.
It’s the perfect setup, right? Pretend to be dying, garner sympathy, and all but force Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) to hand over Harrison. No one is going to keep a boy from his dying daddy.
But wait, that’s not all. This is going to take a turn even Ashland will not see coming. Spoilers show Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is set to be shaken by this bombshell reveal. She and Ashland were just starting to click and now she will never get the chance to get to know him. How very sad. How very sad, indeed.
We can’t quite see Victoria not using this scenario to her advantage, though. Why not try to worm her way into Ashland’s life, business, and bank account? Can you imagine if she manages to become Mrs. Locke before he’s set to die? What a way to get it all! It would be bonkers!
Of course, he can see the gold digger scheme coming a mile away so why not run with this golden opportunity? Picture this, Ashland fake falls for Victoria and marries her because why not? But haha! He doesn’t die and is now entitled to half of Newman because Little Miss Victoria didn’t think to get a prenup because hey, her fiancé was practically on his death bed.
Not only can he weaponize his faux health issues to be close to Harrison, get one-up on Tara, but ruin Victoria — and by extension, the great Victor Newman (who did that twisted scheme on him when he was having a heart attack), too. Ashland can come out of this with his son, his money, and the Newman legacy.
It would make him the most powerful man in all the land. Think this wild spec could really happen? Let us know in the comments section below. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
