The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, April 27, 2020, kick-off five days of Katherine the Great episodes with a 1989 double dost of Jeanne Cooper, both as the one and only Katherine “Kay” Chancellor and as her lowlife lookalike, Marge.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers Highlights
Kay was always a class act. Or, at least, she always wanted people to think she was. Sure, she drank. A lot. And we don’t mean to stay hydrated. Sure, she drove drunk and managed to kill her husband, Phillip, after learning he’d father a baby with Jill the beautician. Yes, that Jill (then Brenda Dickson, now Jess Walton).
Sure, she paid Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) strip club boss, Cash (John Gibson), to be her boy-toy, and liked to watch him gyrate shirtless.
But she always dressed beautifully, had wonderful taste in rings, and an accent from… somewhere. But somewhere classy.
Who Are You?
Marge, on the other hand, was a waitress at a trashy diner, with a pencil perenially stuck behind her ear, a stick of gum in her mouth, and an equally difficult-to-place accent. Except it was definitely not classy.
You know what Marge did have going for her, though? A face that looked exactly like Kay’s. Which was kind of amazing, considering that Kay had undergone a face-lift years earlier (on camera, no less), and Marge likely wouldn’t have had the funds for such a thing, but coincidences have got to coincidence.
The Katherine Plot Thickens
When Kay’s husband, Rex’s (Quinn Redeker) old cell-mate, Clint, set eyes on Marge, he knew he’d struck gold. Clint taught Marge to act like Kay, kidnapped the dowager (as well as a pregnant with Chloe-to-be Esther), and installed the waitress in her place.
