Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) struggle to survive comes to a heartbreaking end. The infection overtook her and no specialist in the world could save her. Every effort is failing and things get worse by the minute. All her family can do is keep her comfortable until the end.
In the final moments of Cassie’s life, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) take time alone with their daughter. They cry over her, tell her how much they love her, and give her permission to let go. Cassie promises them another daughter one day. (They get Faith — and then surprise — Mariah.)
Cassie’s fight ends when she closes her eyes for the last time.

An Escape Mission
At the same time, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) tries to figure out his next move. He can’t stick around here and face going to jail. He and Lily (Christel Khalil) come up with a plan to get him out of town. It’s a sneaky and shady scheme and not very well thought out.
Getting away will not be easy. Malcolm will be all over Lily and the press is all over the Abbott mansion. The accident made headlines and Cassie’s condition is huge in the press. The paparazzi are all over this story and the grounds. Not to mention, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) keeping a close eye on her son. If Daniel wants to sneak away he better be careful.
Young And In Love (Sort Of)
Meanwhile, Mackenzie (Rachel Kimsey) works to reclaim her man and asks to move back in with JT (Thad Luckinbill). Sounds good to JT. Why not hook back up and see where things go. It’s not like JT has anything else going on (that Mac knows about, anyway). Is Mac making a big mistake by coming home? JT is a great catch, but is he ready to be caught?
