The Young and the Restless spoilers preview for July 27-31 is here. Find out what Genoa City players are up to this coming week!

It’s yet another week or Genoa City classics as the soap features The Newmans this week. After The Brooks and Foster families were faded out, YR became all about the Newmans and Abbotts, headed by Victor (Eric Braeden) and John (Jerry Douglas), respectively, for decades.

Well, we already had a week dedicated to the Abbotts, so in what we hope will be the last week of classics for now, in come The Newmans. This week we get to re-live some of their greatest moments — and their most tear-jerking ones.

For example, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) experience a parent’s worst nightmare when teenage Cassie (Camryn Grimes) dies after a car accident. The pair never recovered from that tragedy and the effects are still being felt today.

We also go further back with a little blonde cherub named Victoria who gets to know her daddy, Victor, for the first time. (Remember, Nikki tried to keep Victoria’s paternity a secret when she was first born.)

A grown-up Victoria (Amelia Heinle) marries JT (Thad Luckinbill) with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) holding their son, Reed. That marriage also didn’t last and things became worse in 2018 when JT returned and he and Victoria tried to rekindle their romance. Sadly, JT became abusive. Then, of course, he was presumed dead for almost a year and his behavior turned out to be the result of a brain tumor.

Then, we go back to the early 90s again when Victor tries to teach a teenage Nick some lessons — boxing lessons. Of course, Victor believes that boxing can also teach life lessons and that is something that will never change.
