The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, January 17, 2020, reveal another tearful day at Sharon’s cottage. She sits her girls down and breaking the news about her diagnosis. Neither will take the news well but Mariah especially struggles to keep a brave face.
Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) was the first in the know so when her mom sits her down she knows what’s coming. She’s prepared herself for hours to hear Sharon’s (Sharon Case) news and is ready for it.
At least as ready as anyone could be. There are tears but hearing her mom is going to live is more than Faith could hope.
It’s a whole different experience for Mariah (Camryn Grimes). She walks in the house to a sea of sorrow filled faces and instantly knows something is wrong. Very, very wrong. Did someone die? Is someone sick? In true Mariah form, she goes straight to the worst-case scenario.
Get your tissues ready for the moment Mariah hears the truth. Her mother has cancer. The news turns her entire world upside down. Sharon’s in for the fight of her life and Mariah is terrified they’ll lose her. She only found her mother a few short years ago.
Sharon gives the advice of her life when she tells the girls the series of events leading up to her diagnosis and attributes her survival rate to early detection. Her self exam changed everything and gave her the biggest fighting chance.
