The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday, May 5, reveal a flashback to August 17, 1987, with Nikki planning a reunion with Victor, and Phillip planning to spend the rest of his like with Cricket.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers Highlights

A few years after their fairy-tale wedding, Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) marriage was already on the rocks. Who could have dreamed that a relationship that involved Nikki lying that Victor wasn’t the father of her daughter, Victoria – cool choice of names, there, no way would he put two and two together – might have become filled with even more deception?

Victor ended up falling for Ashley (Eileen Davidson) after she had a nervous breakdown upon learning that John (Jerry Douglas) wasn’t her biological father. Ashley got pregnant but ended up aborting her baby when Nikki was believed to be terminally ill. That, by the way, was another lie.

So now with Ashley out of the way, Nikki can’t see any reason why she and Victor shouldn’t live happily ever after. They can just forget everything that went down between them, forgive the lies, and stroll confidently into the future, knowing that it’ll never happen again.

Chirping Chicken

The first thing to know, today’s District Attorney Christine (Lauralee Bell) used to go by the name Cricket. Cricket was in love with Phillip (Thom Bierdz), Jill’s (Jess Walton) son, whom Kay (Jeanne Cooper) tried to bribe into loving her more.

Phillip was also in love with Cricket. But, oh, noes, in a moment of weakness, he slept with Nina (Tricia Cast), who would end up giving birth to his son, Phillip Chancellor the IV, who now goes by Chance (Donny Boaz).

So, to summarize, Phillip fathered Nina’s baby, is in love with and wants to marry Nina but, in reality, he is getting ready to fake his death because he’s convinced his family won’t accept him for being gay. Watch the episode. See if you can spot his inner turmoil. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
