The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, November 30, 2020, kick off the celebration of the show’s 12,000th episode with a wedding that brings together the Abbotts, the Newmans, and the Chancellors.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Groom’s Side Or Bride’s?
When The Young and the Restless first premiered, the only family that’s still around today who was there at the time were the Chancellors and the Fosters. (Though, later, it was retconned that Kay knew John and Dina when they were all young and restless together. We presume that, in 1973, they were living on the other side of the camera.)
The groom, Chance (Justin Gaston) is actually Phillip Chancellor the Fourth, grandson of Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) then-husband, Phillip Chancellor the Second, and Jill Foster (Jess Walton), the manicurist Phillip had an affair with.
Jill is back for the wedding, and so is Chance’s mom, Nina. Kay’s grandson, Devon (Bryton James), will officiate at the ceremony.
Newcomers
The bride, on the other hand, is Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). Her people arrived in Genoa City almost a decade later. She is John Abbott’s granddaughter, daughter of Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Abby’s uncle Jack (Peter Bergman) was friends with Kay. And Abby’s dad, Victor, was friends with Kay. (She’s the one who helped Nikki snag Victor into holy wedded matrimony. Several times.) But Abby’s uncle Jack and her dad Victor are longtime rivals. Though lately, they’ve both had better things to do, you never know what might flare up between them when trapped in a wedding scheduled to last a week.
Second Thoughts
That is if it ever happens. Abby first wanted to have children with and marry Chance. Then she worried about what it would be like to be married to a cop who put his life on the line every day. Then she wanted to have children with and marry Chance again – after he nearly lost his life in the line of duty. Now she’s not sure again. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
