The Young and the Restless Spoilers
The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, May 1, celebrates May Day with a classic episode from May 4, 2009, as Kay prepares to marry Murphy, and Victor is stuck in a very familiar quagmire.
Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) loved one gather to celebrate her latest wedding, this time to Murphy. Sure it’s her umpteenth (OK, fourth) time down the aisle. And several previous husbands, including Phillip (Donnelly Rhoades) and Rex (Quinn Redeker), ended up dead. But hope springs eternal, does it not? This one will be forever! Or, at least, till death do they part.
This may be a flashback to 2009, but it sure feels like the 1980s, doesn’t it? That’s because Victor (Eric Braeden) is, once again, vacillating between Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson).
Sure, Victor has had other wives. There was Julia (Meg Bennet), whose lover he locked in the basement and forced him to eat rats. There was Hope (Signy Coleman), mother of Adam (Mark Grossman). There was Diane, and there was Sabrina. There was Leanna. She was crazy. And there was Sharon (Sharon Case). Victor was crazy to marry her. And nobody really talks about it now, because of the whole ‘she was married and had children with his son, thing’.
But, in the end, Nikki has only had one great love of his life: Nikki. With Ashley as the runner up. Victor and Nikki have two children together. Victor and Ashley have one. (Though she did abort his child back in the day, which made her run out into rainstorms and hear babies crying.)
Whenever Nikki isn’t available, Victor finds himself drifting back towards Ashley. And she drifts back towards him. Because it’s not like her love life has been particularly robust, either. Which is where we find ourselves. Today. Er… tomorrow.
