The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, September 4 head into the holiday weekend with some self-defense, as Chance protects Adam, Nick praises his relationship with Phyllis, and Devon smooths over any problems that might come up with Elena.

Chance (Danny Boaz) thought his Vegas secret was behind him once Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) handed over their shares in The Grand Phoenix to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) due to blackmail. (Basically, Adam and Chance let their women clean up their messes for them.)

But now Alyssa, daughter of AJ the loan shark, is back in Genoa City, and she wants to talk to Chance about her childhood friend’s Vegas activities. Chance lies. Maybe for Adam… maybe for himself…

Thirteenth Time Is the Charm For Nick and Phyllis?

We don’t know what number reunion this is for Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis. We bet Nick and Phyllis don’t know what number reunion this is for Nick and Phyllis. All they know is this time, it’s going to work. This time, they won’t have any problems. They are shocked, however, that some people – namely their daughter and the majority of Nick’s family – are skeptical. Time for Nick to do some mansplaining!

Blood Ties

Devon (Bryton James) agreed to help Amanda (Mishael Morgan) figure out if she’s related to Hilary. Now it’s time to break the news to Elena (Brytni Sarpy). Considering that Elena has been totes supportive of everything Devon has done up to this point – give away your inheritance, don’t give away your inheritance; the only thing she blew up about was Devon paying off her student loans, and she got over that eventually – why would she mind him helping Amanda? Elena is all about helping people!
