The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, May 8, 2020, promise a look back to September 5, 2002. Nikki dons another white dress to take her vows with the only man she’s ever really loved, Victor.
How many times does a couple have to get married to get it right? For Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden), the number is four. (Or is it five? Six, maybe?) Anyway, for this episode, the couple thinks the third time’s the charm and takes to the Colonnade room to give it another go.
Nikki will be accompanied by Victoria (then-Heather Tom), Cassie, and a very upset Sharon (Sharon Case). There will be tears of joy for the bride and tears of bitterness from her bridesmaid. Sharon is not having a good day after yet another spat with Nick (Joshua Morrow).
Thankfully, Nikki’s on cloud nine and doesn’t notice Sharon’s sulky behavior. She is a woman in love and zones in on her once and future hubby. Victor (Eric Braeden) is truly the love of her life and nothing else matters.
The posh ceremony, the elegant reception, and a passionate wedding make for a night to remember. It’s one of the high times in Nikki’s life. She has her man, her children are healthy and happy, and her family is back together and stronger than ever — well, for right now, anyway.
Weddings bring out the best and worst in people, and for Ashley (Eileen Davidson), it was the worst. She becomes such an emotional wreck she has Olivia drive her home. The poor woman is a wreck already thanks to her near-deadly cancer battle, never mind watching the man she truly loves walk down the aisle with her rival (even though she’s already married herself).
The drama doesn’t stop when she’s dropped off, though. Once alone with Abby, she makes a video confession about his biological father. Yes, sweetie, your real daddy isn’t Brad (Don Diamont), it’s Victor Newman!
The bombshell confession is only for baby Abby’s toddler ears for now but that videotape will live on for years to come. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
