The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, December 31 features a wild ending to the year. Christine caught Victor in a trap, Victoria made a wrong move, and Rey became the GCPD’s hottest rising star.
Christine (Lauralee Bell) launched an all-out war against Victor (Eric Braeden) starting with trying to charge him, Nick (Joshua Morrow), and even Nate (Brooks Darnell) with kidnapping. Thankfully, that didn’t hold up once she talked to Nikki.
The Newman matriarch made it clear she’s nobody’s victim and spun a web to get The Mustache off the hook. Christine had no choice but to release the doc and Nick, but she didn’t let Victor go so easily.
In a panic to keep The Dark Knight behind bars Christine and Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) charged him with JT’s murder.
Cane (Daniel Goddard) woke up from his drunken stupor to a very understanding Devon (Bryton James). The music mogul let his brother-in-law off easy (unlike Cane, who’s never done the same). Unfortunately, this was the simplest part of Cane’s day.
No sooner did he get home than Victoria (Amelia Heinle) came banging at the door. Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) had been missing since his confession and she was searching high and low to find him.
Reed wasn’t there, of course, but it did give Vicky the opportunity to drop the hit and run bomb. Poor Cane’s world turned upside down knowing it was his son’s car in that accident. But, he took comfort in knowing Charlie wasn’t the driver.
The parents then ripped each other up one side and down the other in fits of fury.
Just when Victoria’s anger had boiled over she reached a breaking point and pulled Cane into an out-of-nowhere passionate kiss. Um, yes, that happened.
