The Young and the Restless spoilers breakdown for Wednesday, August 22 reveal shifting dynamics, exposed secrets, and buried lies.
Nick Stomps On Jack’s Plans
Jack’s (Peter Bergman) happiness comes to an abrupt end when Nick (Joshua Morrow) bursts his bubble. Yes, they now own the leasing company, but no, they will not use it to destroy Jaboutique.
Nick has much bigger, long-term plans for keeping Billy under his thumb, and they hinge on being his new landlord.
Poor Jack and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) are forced back to the drawing board to create a new plan to oust Billy and save their father’s company.
They’ll have to bring Traci (Beth Maitland) to town and get her into the driver’s seat. Sure, Traci’s already said she wants no part of this whole mess, but they don’t give her a choice. Jack and Ash need her to take the throne and overturn the pesky blood-Abbott clause before it’s too late.
Summer Plots Her Seduction
Unfortunately, Jack and Ashley aren’t Billy’s only worry. Summer (Hunter King) has a bet to win (and a man to bag), and she has a pretty clever plan of her own going on.
She may have been ousted from the convention by Lauren (Tracey Bregman) but that’s not stopping her from going to Philly for Billy.

Summer has a room booked and uses her mom’s affair to blackmail Phyllis into giving her some time off. She says she’s going to a yoga retreat but will Phyllis believe her? Either way, she lets Summer know she’ll soon have the condo all to herself.
Setting the Record Straight
Speaking of hot and heavy romance, Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) confused by Ashley’s cold shoulder and heads straight to her office for a little chat. He doesn’t expect their relationship to go from one kiss to a rush down the aisle, but he demands some respect.
A New Bond
Lily (Christel Khalil) is reaching her breaking point and needs a shoulder to lean on (one that’s not attached to Cane).
She’s plagued with nightmares, regrets, and more guilt than she ever thought possible. She needs a friend (well, she needs a psychiatrist but will settle for a psych student friend) and asks Sharon for a listening ear.
The two women bond over coffee and swap stories with Sharon realizing just how many lies are hidden among the Genoa City elite. Hopefully, unlike Lily, she can keep hers buried forever.
