The guesses have been flying fast and furious. Dumas is Cane (Daniel Goddard)! Dumas is Tucker (Stephen Nichols)! Dumas is Victor (Eric Braeden)! Dumas is Jack (Peter Bergman)! Dumas is Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott)! Dumas is Damian (Jermaine Rivers)! Dumas is Holden (Nate Owens)! Dumas is Ian (Ray Wise)! Dumas is that creepy old guy Mariah (Camryn Grimes) had something to do with while she was away. Dumas is Esther (Kate Linder)! At this point, we’ve even considered Harrison (Redding Munsell).

The Woman Behind the Man
You know who does know who Dumas is? Amanda (Mishael Morgan). Dumas gives her her marching orders — and signs her paychecks. But is there a more personal relationship here? Devon (Bryton James) was the idiot who cheated on this goddess. Another, smarter man would instantly recognize her worth.
We’ve been told Dumas is smart. Smart enough to periodically outsmart Victor. Smart enough to know he needs Audra (Zuleyka Silver) at his forest maze meeting of Genoa City’s movers and shakers. So he’s smart. Smart enough to appreciate Amanda. Hey, for all we know, she’s Dumas. In that case, everyone better bow down to her.

Out of Nowhere
On the other hand, if Dumas turns out to be someone we’ve never met before with no connection to the Abbotts, the Newmans, and their hangers-on, well, then…. he better make a heck of an entrance to make it worth all this build-up.
