When his fellow addict shoved her husband, the guy fell and didn’t get back up. When the police questioned Nick, he initially took the blame. He even said that Marie wasn’t in the room. Thankfully, she didn’t let him take the fall for her.
Instead, she told the cop the real story. That she was the one who accidentally caused her husband’s death. Marie chose to cooperate with the police, and so she went down to the station for further questioning. Nick noted that she would need a lawyer and told her to expect a man to show up at the precinct to help.
