The Young and the Restless spoilers for May 11-15, 2020, reveal a special week dedicated to some of the most epic, longest-lasting rivalries in soap opera history… and yes, we do mean Katherine and Jill as well as Victor and Jack!
Last week, viewers saw five classic episodes detailing the oh-so-complicated love story of Victor (Eric Braden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Now it’s time to relive some of the best confrontations between a whole host of feuding foes.
There are business rivals duking it out over the ownership of companies and the love of good women. There’s a battle royale taking place between two women whose hatred was solidified some 25 years prior. And there’s even a wet and wild catfight between former in-laws!
On Monday, viewers will be transported back to June 30, 1998. Jill, still smarting from both her second estrangement from John Abbott and the failure of her most recent love affair has accepted an offer of room and board from Katherine Chancellor.
But when her melancholy gives way to nostalgia, Jill decamps to the mansion’s attic and loses herself in the long-ago memories that the stored antiques conjure up. And it’s those memories – along with a few harsh words and a resounding slap across the face – that leads to a vicious brawl breaking out between her and Katherine!
It’s October 1, 1993 – well, really Tuesday, May 12, 2020, but you get our meaning – and Victor Newman has quite the surprise in store for his family, his friends, and his enemies.
They all believe him to be dead. But he was, in actuality, merely living a carefree existence on Hope Adams’ farm. And he probably would have stayed put if not for Jack’s appointment to the CEO position at Newman Enterprises.
Now, Victor has to right that wrong. And the only way to do so is to reveal himself to the world at large… but he’s going to start with a select few who have been invited to join a “gathering of great significance” inside the Colonnade’s private dining room.
The next day, you can relive the horse stable-set catfight between Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Sharon (Sharon Case) – the former Mrs. Victor Newman and his current squeeze.
On Thursday, it’s back to 1998. Victor has once again been presumed dead, Jack has once again been installed as CEO of Newman, and there’s about to be yet another miraculous – and very public – resurrection. And just like the previous occasion… Jack isn’t going to be too happy.
The rivals marathon ends on Friday with a look back at a particularly brutal clash between Lily (Christel Khalil) and her stepmother turned sister-in-law Hilary (Mishael Morgan). The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
