The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday, July 2, finally force Nikki to consider what her asking for Jack’s help cost him and his family.
When Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) asked Jack (Peter Bergman) to be her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, she didn’t care that Victor (Eric Braeden) objected. She didn’t care that Diane (Susan Walters) objected. She wanted Jack to do it, so Jack did it.
Granted, Nikki didn’t expect Jack to try and stop her from drinking by almost killing himself taking pills…but that stupidity was on him. However, Nikki has to take some responsibility, too. Jack helping her strained his marriage to Diane, which sort of led to him needing to let Kyle (Michael Mealor) go from Jabot. And it painted a target on Jack’s back, where Victor now wants revenge for Jack daring to help Victor’s wife in a way Victor couldn’t.
Except Nikki doesn’t know that yet. Even Jack doesn’t know that yet. Kyle doesn’t know it, either, and he’s the tool Victor plans to use to get back at Jack.
Victor knows. But Victor isn’t about to let anybody know until he’s ready. This is a chess game. Victor’s opponents do not even know that they’re playing. Or that they’re being played.
Diane may have lost a son now that Kyle has stomped off in a self-righteous huff to work for Victor (but he’ll still be living in Daddy’s house, right?), but she gained a friend in need when Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) comes to her to make a confession. Will Michael tell Diane about the role he and Cole (J. Eddie Peck) played in rescuing Jordan (Colleen Zenk)…and protecting Victor? And will this information come in real handy when Victor launches his attack against Jack?
