The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, July 5, act out the parable of closing the barn door after the cows have come home when Chelsea and Adam agree to be discreet long after they’ve already gone too far.
Friends With Benefits
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) loves Billy (Jason Thompson). Adam (Mark Grossman) loves Sally (Courtney Hope). But they both love Connor (Judah Mackey) more than life itself. There is nothing more important than Connor. And if, in order to make Connor feel more connected to his family, his parents have to have sex, well…no sacrifice is too big.
It’s only after the fact that Chelsea and Adam realize it was a dumb thing to do. And won’t help Connor one iota. So they agree it never happened. They will never mention it. This thing that never happened. So, what could possibly go wrong?
Here’s How It’s Going To Be
Kyle (Michael Mealor) thinks he knows what Victor (Eric Braeden) wants. He told Audra (Zuleyka Silver) that knowing puts Kyle a step ahead of Victor. Sure. True.
Except that Victor doesn’t play one step ahead. Victor plays many steps ahead. He’s not just making plans for Kyle now. He’s probably already figured out how to use Harrison (Redding Munsall) against Jack (Peter Bergman) down the line. This is why when Kyle thinks he’s got everything under control, Victor lays down the law about what’s really about to happen.
Back-Up Band
Summer (Allison Lanier), meanwhile, told Kyle she’ll be suing him for custody of Harrison. Which is fascinating since she’d not even the child’s biological or adoptive mother. She was his stepmother. She isn’t anymore.
Summer needs to prove that she’s a better guardian for Harrison than his father and his jailbird mother. And to do that, she needs to make Kyle look bad. Do you know who is really good at making other people look bad? Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Summer didn’t like her mother’s underhanded tactics before. But that was before she needed Phyllis’ help.
