 Comments

The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, July 19, go to the Sharon/Nick/Phyllis well, for we’ve lost count of what number of times, as Nicholas Newman once again finds himself caught between his various children’s mothers, but, this time, it’s not about romance.

Here We Go Again

Pity poor Nick (Joshua Morrow). So many women need him. Want him. Love him. How many times have he and Sharon (Sharon Case) broken up and made up? How many times have he and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) done the same?

Even Faith (Reylynn Caster) was recruited to announce how lovable Nick is, which is why Nick is currently confused. He isn’t being adored. Phyllis disagrees with him about Summer (Allison Lanier). Sharon insists that he’s wrong, that she’s fine, and that she doesn’t need his help. Nick is clearly feeling overlooked, so he plops himself in between Sharon and Phyllis — again. He feels more secure that way. It’s like a warm, cozy blanket.

(Are Phyllis and Summer cooking up something big?)

Cover Up

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) came to Genoa City as a con artist who’d drugged Billy (Jason Thompson), raped him, then extorted him over Johnny (Paxton Mishkind). Since then, she’s lied, stolen money, blackmailed, kidnapped, and tried to kill Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and frame Adam (Mark Grossman — who talked about the storyline).

This is why we’re confused: Why is a con woman and hard-core criminal, Chelsea, suddenly having trouble hiding a secret? Chelsea doesn’t want Billy — they’re in love now; ignore how they first met — to know that she slept with Adam. Almost makes us wonder if she really, deep down, wants the truth to come out.

Moving On

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is trying to make up a quarter century of parenting with Claire (Hayley Erin) by becoming a bit of an overbearing mom. She urges her to expand her horizons, move out of her comfort zone, and try new things. Does that mean new people? Like Kyle (Michael Mealor).
