On the June 24 episode of The Young and the Restless, Victoria and Victor sang Claire’s praises to a reluctant Katie. Of course, they both failed to realize that there’s somebody else they do not give the same benefit of the doubt — Adam.
Black Sheep Times Two
Yes, we know that Adam (Mark Grossman, who discussed Adam’s feelings on Claire.) has done some bad things against the Newman family. Of course, Claire (Hayley Erin) has, too. Yes, she was kidnapped and brainwashed by evil Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk), but Adam had the trauma of killing a man as a child and growing up without Victor (Eric Braeden).
Is Victoria (Amelia Heinle) really that un-self-aware that she can beg her daughter to give Claire a chance in one scene and badmouth her brother, Adam, in another? Not to mention that Victoria has done far more than fail to give Adam a chance to be part of the family. She’s actively worked to push him out of the Newman family business and the family in general.
Plus, there’s Victor. He’s currently trying to use his younger son’s dark side to help him get revenge on Jack (Peter Bergman). Is this really something a loving and accepting father would do to a son who struggles? (Check out our examination of Victor here.)
While Claire hasn’t tried a second time to hurt the Newmans, give her time. She hasn’t been around too long. We know Adam has worked against his family multiple times, but he’s been doing a reasonable job for quite a while now, not trying to hurt the Newmans.
We can’t help but wonder if Victoria, Victor, and even Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) gave Adam the same consideration they’re asking Katie (Sienna Mercuri) to give Claire if Adam might have been able to be a better person all along. At a minimum, it is hard to watch Victoria ask her daughter for the very thing she’s unable to give her brother, Adam.
What do you think? Should Victoria change her tune about Adam, given what she’s asking her family to do for Claire? Should Victor reconsider using Adam for his revenge purposes? Let us know in the comments.
