The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday, April 16 prove that the Newmans and the Abbotts can work together…when it’s a subject they both care about.
Harrison (Redding Munsell) is there one minute, silently handing Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) their anniversary present; the next, he’s missing. We’ve spilled a lot of internet ink stressing that, no matter how many times she calls herself that, Summer (Allison Lanier) is not Harrison’s mother.
But there is no denying that she loves the boy as if he were. And, since Kyle (Michael Mealor) is incredibly useless in all scenarios, especially in a crisis, it’s up to Summer to keep him together while they search for Harrison.
Victor, of course, strides in to take over the investigation. The boy disappeared from his party, after all, which de facto makes Victor the most important player in this drama. But Harrison has another grandfather, Jack (Peter Bergman) — note how Nick (Joshua Morrow) never refers to himself as Harrison’s grandfather; he’s obviously much too young and virile to be called any such thing — and so Victor graciously allows an Abbott to participate in the investigation.
And the obvious culprit is Claire (Hayley Erin). After all, she’s shown a repeated, disturbing interest in the boy. And, more incriminatingly, she’s Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) niece. I.e., her puppet.
It was only a few weeks ago that Claire was luring all the Newmans to Jordan’s house so they could kill Claire’s family. And yet, everyone completely welcomed her with open arms as soon as she cried, “Sad childhood!” (You know, the way that’s Victor’s get out of jail free card, too.) Has she been playing them all along? Setting them up for this crime? Or is there a reasonable explanation for why they’re both nowhere to be found?
