The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, February 4, see Nikki in the position of worrying about Lily’s safety, after she gave Victor her permission to use Cane’s ex-wife and children against him. Who knew this could backfire?

Key Takeaways

  • Victor gloats while Nikki frets.
  • Diane and Jack celebrate.
  • Billy hears from Lauren about Jill.

Next on Y&R

When Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) learned of Victor’s (Eric Braeden) plan to make Cane (Billy Flynn) think that Victor had Lily (Christel Khalil), Mattie, and Charlie… and that he would harm them unless Cane gave back that which Victor rightfully stole first, Nikki called her husband “the smartest man in the world.” There goes her being his sole moral compass.

Victor assured that he had the situation under control, that Lily and the twins would be fine, while Cane would be scared straight and go back to losing to Victor, as all mere mortals are legally obliged to do. So Victor smugly strolls over to Cane and taunts and baits him, using the daughter of Victor’s dear friend, Neil (Kristoff St. John), as bait, and feeling really good about himself.

At this point, it crosses Nikki’s mind that this might go wrong and that her husband might actually do something bad to another person. This never occurred to Nikki before! Oh, what, oh, what should she do now?

Winner Takes It All

But while Victor and Cane see who can out-glower whom, Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack (Peter Bergman) are celebrating that The Mustache and The Upstart are busy one-upping each other, and neither one is focusing on Jabot. Jack’s quick thinking in shutting down the company’s online component kept Cane’s super, secret AI program from destroying John Abbott’s family company, which means they’re safe… for now.

Second Hand

Billy (Jason Thompson) had to hear about Jill’s (Jess Walton) ill health from Sally (Courtney Hope), and now he’s getting an update from Lauren (Tracey Bregman). Clearly, Billy’s mom doesn’t want to talk to him. Maybe Billy should draw some conclusions from that. And consider altering his life.
