The families on CBS Daytime Soaps are gathering around the table for Thanksgiving this year, with The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Beyond the Gates all having episodes that celebrate the holiday. Fans won’t want to miss the cheer and goodwill as the characters share good eats and what they’re most thankful for. We can also anticipate a few surprises along the way.
Key Takeaways
- Thanksgiving on Y&R (Nov. 25-26).
- B&B’s holiday gatherings (Nov. 26).
- BTG’s first Thanksgiving (Nov. 24-25).
An Abbott Family Reunion
Y&R has been celebrating everlasting love thanks to Danny (Michael Damian) and Christine’s (Lauralee Bell) wedding. The soap starts its Thanksgiving week by putting the finishing touches on the couple’s festivities on Monday, November 24, as Danny’s son Daniel (Michael Graziadei) shares a duet with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks). But come Tuesday, November 25, viewers will be heading to the Abbott mansion, which has the potential to get a bit messy considering the guest list.
Claire’s (Hayley Erin) invitation hasn’t been rescinded despite her and Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) breakup. He followed her all the way to Los Angeles in an attempt to win her heart back. It didn’t work out for him, but her place at the table is still very much secure. Harrison’s (Redding Munsell) status as both an Abbott and a Newman has a lot to do with that, as does the hope that one day Claire and Kyle might reconcile. In the meantime, passing the green beans might be a bit awkward, but what’s a family get-together without a few bumps here and there?
Billy (Jason Thomas), Sally (Courtney Hope), and Traci (Beth Maitland) will also be in attendance at Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane’s (Susan Walters). For an extra dose of family fun, the long-awaited appearance of Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson—who’s been working on a script!) will happen during Y&R’s Thanksgiving spotlight, which will stretch into Wednesday, November 26’s episode as well.
Viewers can also count on Lily reminding the Winters about the importance of family. With the loss of Damian (Jermaine Rivers) over the summer, they have much to reflect on as the year draws to a close. Then, on Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 27), Y&R fans will be treated to Danny and Christine’s destination wedding from November 16, 1990, when they said, “I do,” in Hawaii.

Breaking Bread at the Cliff House and Il Giardino
Though the drama with a now “deceased” Luna (Lisa Yamada seems to have made her exit) isn’t quiet behind the Forresters and the Spencers, they are moving onto the holidays. B&B’s Thanksgiving fare will take place on Wednesday, November 26, with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) hosting her parents, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor (Rebecca Budig), at the Cliff House with Finn (Tanner Novlan), Kelly (Sophia Paras), and Hayes (Bryan David Garlick).
Steffy’s expected to have a surprise guest make an appearance at her table. If it’s not Ridge, since one would assume he’d be spending Thanksgiving with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), perhaps it’s finally time for Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) to come home. However, we do know that the likelihood of it being Luna is incredibly low.
Miles away from Malibu, at everyone’s favorite Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) will be seating Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). The perfumer and COO have been frequenting Il Giardino for open mic night, but now they’ll be having dinner with the restaurant owners. Admittedly, it’s a little out of left field, but the holidays do have a way of bringing people together.
Though mixed in with speeches on what everyone’s thankful for, we’ll probably see Taylor and Deacon thinking about one another, too. Especially if Sheila continues to gush about how grateful she is that the good doctor saved her marriage, and Ridge asks Taylor about her love life.
Eric and Ridge’s 2023 fashion showdown will re-air on Thursday, November 27.

The First of Many Thanksgivings
As the new soap on CBS, BTG has had the pleasure of showing longtime fans of daytime dramas and new viewers to the genre how they handle the holidays. Thanksgiving promises to be a two-episode affair, with Monday, November 24, setting the stage for Izaiah (David Lami Friebe) to receive advice on how to handle this time of year with the Hawthornes and, by extension, the Duprees. Said “words of wisdom” may come from Hayley (Marquita Goings) whose bubble is going to get popped once she learns why Bill (Timon Kyle Durett) wants to dine at the country club.
On Tuesday, November 25, he will be taking comfort in a Dupree family tradition. From the sidelines, of course. He left the family, but he remains wistful for the sense of community they brought to his life. Hayley’s not going to be happy that once again she’s playing second fiddle to his desires, particularly where Dani (Karla Mosley—who recently reminisced about her Guiding Light wedding!) is sure to be present. But Dani has her own fire to put out, literally, as the meal she and Andre (Sean Freeman) are making at home goes up in flames.
Not present at the country club with the Duprees is Ted (Keith D. Robinson). He’ll be at the diner with Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), giving their daughter her first Thanksgiving with both of her parents. We can pretty much expect it to be heart-warming and messy, given Leslie and Ted’s tendency to bicker. As for Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), she’ll be spending the holiday with Joey (Jon Lindstrom) at an intimate, candlelit dinner for two.
While it’s unknown who Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) will be welcoming as a special guest, it’s possible they could be extending an invitation to June (Jasmine Burke). The twins’ birth mother has been steadily finding her place in their lives now that she’s getting her life back on track. This is a holiday geared toward family, and it’s been years since she’s been able to spend Thanksgiving with hers.
BTG will wrap the week earlier than Y&R and B&B. Reruns will air on Wednesday, November 26 and Thanksgiving.
