The Young and the Restless spoilers for August 2 see Nikki getting over her hesitation about running Chancellor Industries and jumping straight into scheming with Victor about how they’re going to boot Billy.
Billy (Jason Thompson) is feeling his oats. He is the best businessman ever! First, he successfully ran Jabot — until it got boring. Then he was a podcast star — until it got boring.
Now, he has basically started his own company, and it’s already an international success. (He added his Abbott name to the Chancellor Industries logo — that’s the same thing, right?) Nothing can stop him now! He’s got his mommy’s support, and he can definitely handle ex-love Lily (Christel Khalil). Give him all the flowers.
But while no one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition, shouldn’t everyone always expect Victor Newman (Eric Braeden — who recently spoke out about this)? Victor hates Billy. And he loves making Billy miserable. So doesn’t it stand to reason that the moment Billy feels happy, Victor will be there to yank the rug out from under him?
That’s what’s about to happen now. Victor bought Mamie’s (Veronica Redd) shares in Chancellor, and even though Nick (Joshua Morrow) reminded him that wouldn’t be enough to take over from Billy, Victor is plunging ahead. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) will be the new head of Chancellor, and here is how they will work together to humiliate their grandchildren’s father. Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) and Katie (Sienna Mercuri) won’t mind. They know Victor’s happiness is all that matters.
Sharon’s (Sharon Case) family is worried about her. When Imaginary Nick told Sharon she should follow the same advice she’d give her own therapy patients, Sharon said the quiet part out loud and reminded him that it was all just talk; it wasn’t going to fix her issues. (Though, please, Sharon’s clients, keep paying her, even after she admitted it was all bunk.)
Sharon seems to be sinking deeper and deeper. Will she finally hit rock bottom — and get a reality check?
