The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, May 18, tease growing concern surrounding Nick as Victor starts questioning his son’s judgment. Meanwhile, Sharon inserts herself into Phyllis’ latest crisis, and Adam and Chelsea focus their attention on taking down a mutual rival.

Key Takeaways

  • Victor questions Nick’s recent behavior.
  • Sharon gives Phyllis unsolicited advice.
  • Adam and Chelsea strategize against a rival.

Victor Starts Seeing Nick Differently

Victor (Eric Braeden) has spent days worrying about Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and his business situation, but now his attention shifts toward something much closer to home: Nick (Joshua Morrow). After watching his son become increasingly consumed by revenge, paranoia, and emotional instability, Victor begins seriously questioning whether Nick is thinking clearly anymore.

That concern feels justified given everything happening around Nick lately. Between his growing obsession with stopping Matt, his secret pill use, and his willingness to defy Victor outright, Nick has started operating more emotionally than strategically.

The problem is that Victor tends to respond badly when he feels control slipping away inside his own family. Rather than calmly supporting Nick, there’s a very real chance this turns into another power struggle between father and son. Nick already resents being treated like he can’t handle himself, while Victor increasingly sees him as somebody making reckless decisions.

Sharon Tries Giving Phyllis Advice She Probably Doesn’t Want

Elsewhere, Sharon (Sharon Case) offers Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) unsolicited advice, which rarely leads anywhere peaceful in Genoa City.

Phyllis already feels cornered from every direction between Victor’s demands and the criminal case hanging over her head. The last thing she’s likely to welcome is Sharon weighing in on how she should handle things.

At the same time, Sharon has watched enough chaos unfold around Nick and their family to recognize how dangerous the situation has become. If she senses Phyllis making things worse instead of better, she’s not likely to stay quiet about it.

Given the history between these two women, even a well-intentioned conversation could quickly spiral. Sharon and Phyllis have never exactly excelled at calmly exchanging perspectives, particularly when Nick’s life is being affected in the process.

Adam and Chelsea Find Themselves on the Same Side Again

Meanwhile, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) shift their focus toward strategizing against a rival. Working together is natural for them lately.

Of course, partnering with Adam can with complications. Chelsea knows better than almost anyone how quickly his plans can escalate once he becomes fixated on defeating somebody.

Even so, Chelsea appears more aligned with Adam than ever. Whether this shared mission strengthens their relationship or pulls them deeper into another dangerous Newman conflict remains to be seen, but for now, they seem firmly united.
