Something Could Be VERY Wrong With Juliet And Cane’s Baby!

 Comments

It’s an expectant mother’s worst nightmare when something comes back wrong with a pre-natal screening, and that’s exactly what happens to Juliet on The Young and the Restless (YR).

According to the August 28 issue of Soap Opera Digest, the character learns her baby carries a marker for cystic fibrosis, the chronic lung disease that needs lifelong treatment and can also affect the pancreas.

However, in order for her baby to be born with CF, both Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Juliet (Laur Allen) have to carry mutations for the disease, which means Juliet has to ask Cane to take yet another genetic test.

While Cane feels a little inconvenienced by Juliet’s request (he is Cane after all), she explains she has a cousin with the disease and therefore knows it runs in her family, offering more of an indication that she does indeed carry a mutation.

He begins to realize Juliet has been going through this entire pregnancy and scare alone and steps up to have blood drawn.

Of course, things get worse for Cane as they always do when he and Juliet hug after their lab appointment and Lily catches them. (Well, at least it’s not Hilary, so chances are the moment won’t end up on GC Buzz.)
