Fans can see Michelle Stafford on The Young and the Restless each week as Phyllis, but not elsewhere, at least for a little while. The actress is taking a social media break and Soap Hub has the details on the reason why.
Michelle Stafford: Tired Of Attacks
“I am going to be posting this and then I will be disappearing for a while…” Stafford shared on Instagram. “I’ll tell you why, in a nutshell. I post something I get attacked for wearing a mask. I get attacked for not wearing it or wearing it wrong… or whatever. I don’t post enough and get attacked. I don’t use the right hashtag and get attacked. I don’t respond to somebody in a timely manner, I get attacked. Hell, I’ll probably get attacked for this post.
“Frankly, IG isn’t really so much fun anymore,” the two-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress continues. “The majority of you lovely folks have been filled with beauty during this incredibly challenging time and I love you. It’s been challenging for every single one of us. I have been met with some new challenges in the last couple days and … ya know, family first.
“I am just a bit vulnerable at the moment and really don’t understand attacks of any kind to somebody one doesn’t know,” adds Stafford, noting she’s not taking a total break from social media. “I will still be doing my SKIN NATION SUNDAY every Sunday, as it is a very positive group!! If you are positive… come by (Link in bio👆🏻) But in the words of Robin [Williams]… BE KIND ALWAYS. ❤️ I love all of you GOOD people… STAY HEALTHY and watch #YR WE’RE BACK! ❤️.”
Stafford became an instant sensation when she joined YR in 1994 as Phyllis, who regularly and brazenly introduced herself as “Mrs. Danny Romalotti, the mother of Danny Romalotti, Jr.!”
Today, Phyllis has shifted her focus to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), but she hasn’t lost any of her fire! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
