Couples have all kinds of anniversaries. The day they met. They day they went on their first date. The day they got married. Recently, Greg Rikaart, who plays Kevin on The Young and the Restless, recently took to social media to celebrate one of the anniversaries he shares with husband, writer Robert Sudduth.
“Fifteen years ago today I changed his life. Happy anniversary @robert.sudduth ❤️,” Rikaart wrote on Instagram. Sudduth playfully responded: “Something like that. 🙄😘.”
While the couple counts 15 years ago as an anniversary, they tied the knot legally in May 2015 in a small ceremony. A year later, they welcomed son, Monty.
Rikaart’s co-stars weighed in on the post with congratulatory messages. “❤️❤️❤️LOVE! Happy Anniversary studs,” wrote Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea). Jason Thompson (Billy) posted: “🙏🏼So great.” Lauralee Bell summed up her feelings with two simple heart emjois: “❤️❤️.” Added Melissa Ordway (Abby): “Happy Anniversary 🎉❤️.”
“So happy for you both!” wrote Kate Linder, who plays Esther, Kevin’s mother-in-law. Kristian Alfonso (Hope, Days of Our Lives), who shared screentime with Rikaart when he played DAYS’ Leo, wrote: “Happy Anniversary 🎉😘🎈.” Stacy Haiduk (Kristen, DAYS; ex-Patty/Emily, YR) shared: “Congrats!!❤️❤️Happy anniversary!!🥂.” DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati posted: “Adorbs. 😘😘🌈🌈.”
Rikaart joined YR in 2003 as Kevin in what was originally going to be a short-term role. The show’s creative team decided to tie Kevin to the canvas by revealing he is Michael Baldwin’s (Christian Le Blanc) half-brother, Kevin. Later, the brothers were joined by their mother, Gloria (Judith Chapman).
Sudduth is a TV writer/producer whose credits include: The Real O’Neals, American Princess, The Crazy Ones, GCB (Good Christian Belles), and Teenage Bounty Hunters. Sudduth’s acting credits include roles on Desperate Housewives, Port Charles, Veronica Mars, Alias, and Felicity.
