We all know that social media can be a time-suck, as one can get lost for hours reading about people’s opinions, the latest gossip, and viewing cute photos of pets. And watching endless hours of news and hearing about problems and the division among people in our country over masks, vaccines, and other important issues can often be a bad thing for one’s sanity. Michelle Stafford has decided to do something about it.
Michelle Stafford’s Social Media Experiment
The Young and the Restless star (and General Hospital alum) has decided to do something that she hopes will put her life at more peace. On her Instagram account, the actress announced that she’s going to try a brave experiment that directly ties in with both her mediums.
“I am going to not watch the news and not be on Social Media for 2 weeks,” the two-time Daytime Emmy winner reveals. “I’m going to see if anything changes in my life (for the better). It’s been really challenging for ALL of us. I don’t think reading about or seeing or listening to people fight or degrade each other on TV or SM is really beneficial to my life or my creative life.”
It’s a theory that seems to make a lot of sense and one that many therapists promote — clearing your mind from the stress for a little bit. Michelle Stafford promises to be back on social media when her experiment is over and update fans on the results.
“I’ll share with you, what I learn,” she wrote. “Now, what I WILL be doing is helping my kids start their new year in school. And what I will be doing is working on this new project that I’ll tell you all about when I come back… and what I will be doing is sending you all love… just not on social media 🙂 it’s a fun experiment. You are all extraordinary. See you in a couple weeks.”
On-screen, Phyllis Summers could use a little stress-free time herself. She just took down her daughter’s enemies who ran her out of town, but Summer Newman (Hunter King) still won’t return from Italy and she’s a hot mess because of it. Take a breath Phyllis and try to relax.
