Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
Patrika Darbo returns to Days of our Lives as Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) mother, Nancy Wesley, on Friday, January 14. Albeit not under contract with the soap opera, she’s back for a major storyline. The actress, last seen on Days in 2016, portrayed Shirley Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful (2017-2018) and The Young and the Restless (2021) during her time away from the NBC soap.
Ellen Crawford, remembered as Nurse Lydia Wright on NBC’s ER, appears as Mother Superior on Thursday, January 13. She’ll share scenes with Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans, while Steve Johnson and Kayla Brady Johnson search for Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).
Bryan R. Dattilo pops back in as Lucas Horton on Friday, January 14. The character is in town to testify at EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) trial.
Meanwhile, at General Hospital, Eden McCoy has inked a new three-year contract with the soap. The actress, who portrays Josslyn Jacks, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), and Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) daughter, made her debut in the role back in 2015.
Jane Elliot has returned for another visit as Tracy Quartermaine. She kicked off a new storyline arc on the soap opera, involving the death of Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), on January 3.
Viron Weaver has taken over the role of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos, Michael Corinthos’s (Chad Duell) son. The part was last played by twins Caleb and Kyler Ends.
Also, that was David Jahn portraying D.A. Sheridan, the prosecutor who tried to bring Nina (Cynthia Watros) to justice.
Over at The Bold and the Beautiful Cassandra Creech begins a recurring stint as Dr. Grace Buckingham, Paris’ (Diamond White) mother, on Monday, January 10. The daytime vet previously portrayed Denise on As the World Turns (1998 to 2001) and Diane on Days of our Lives (2018).
Alfonso Caballero returns as the “meeting leader” on Monday, January 10. He’ll share scenes with Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke Forrester.
Real-life model Alexis Gaube turns up as Forrester Creations model Andi, while James Ripple plays “the bartender” on Friday, January 14.
Finally, The Young and the Restless is airing a special soap opera episode commemorating actor Christian LeBlanc’s 30-year-run on the soap, that will center on his character, Michael Baldwin. Look for Lauralee Bell to pop in as Christine Blair, Michael’s former law partner, on Monday, January 10.
Also included in the celebration will be Judith Chapman. She appears as Michael’s mother, Gloria Abbott Bardwell, on Monday, January 10.
Y&R is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
