Soap Hub Performer of the Week for Y&R: Tracey Bregman

The Young and the Restless Performer of the Week Tracey Bregman

The Young and the Restless viewers know that Lauren Fenmore Baldwin will stop at nothing to protect her Fenmore brand. When Sally Spectra bested her by designing a better wedding dress for Victoria Newman the claws came out.

This week, Lauren expressed fury at Sally and Chloe Mitchell over the whole wedding dress switch. During her tirades, we saw glorious echoes of Lauren’s mean girl past. For that, Soap Hub presents Performer of the Week honors for Y&R on Lauren’s portrayer, Tracey Bregman.

Tracey Bregman – Performer Of The Week

When Sally (Courtney Hope) returned to Genoa City with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) with nothing but smiles, it didn’t take Lauren too long to tell off the designer. It almost felt like something right out of Lauren’s rockstar years when she read Sally the riot act over supposedly stabbing her in the back.

Lauren used to employ Sally, but she fired her after the Summer Newman (Hunter King) debacle. Somehow, Lauren seemed to believe she deserved undying loyalty from Sally anyway.

Bregman convincingly delivered Lauren’s line that she wouldn’t shed any tears when sooner or later Sally looked around realized the only thing left to do was leave Genoa City. We suddenly felt transported back to Lauren’s more devious days before she became the current live and let live version of herself.

Is this hint of mean girl Lauren a sign that viewers will see more of the feisty character they know, love, and sometimes love to hate? Perhaps. We can only hope that Lauren will grace our screens more often. One thing is certain, Tracey Bregman hasn’t forgotten how to bring echoes of Lauren’s past back into the storylines, and we love her for it!
