Should Chance and Abby Adopt a Baby On The Young and the Restless?

Even before they tied the knot on The Young and the Restless, Chance and Abby have been talking about only one thing: Babies, babies, and more babies. Chance (Donny Boaz) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) really want to have a baby. They might have mentioned it once or twice.

But then, as things are wont to go, Abby discovered that she isn’t capable of carrying a baby to term. Luckily, between them, Chance and Abby have more money than God, so they can solve this problem pretty easily. Should the adopt a child? What almost 2,000 potential social workers had to say about that:

Blood Will Tell

In case Victor (Eric Braeden) hasn’t made it clear, there is nothing more important than continuing the Newman bloodline. Abby and Chance shouldn’t adopt, 61% of you back him up, they should hire a surrogate to give them a biological child!

After all, if your DNA includes people like Victor’s abusive dad, Albert, his sociopath son, Adam (Mark Grossman), and a scheming social climber like Jill (Jess Walton), how could you not want to pass all that goodness on? And then, of course, there’s Victor… There should be as many clones of him out there as humanly possible!

Good Deed

A smaller 39% of the audience thinks adoption is a terrific idea! Sure, Chance’s adoptive dad, Ryan, ended up cheating on his mom, Nina (Tricia Cast). But he did love “Little Phillip.” And Abby’s adoptive dad, Brad (Don Diamont), loved and considered her his own even after Victor staked his claim.

Both of them had very positive experiences with adoption and would make terrific parents to a child in need of a home. If Chance and Abby really want to be parents – rather than merely reproducing their own genetic code – they’ll consider adoption. And live happily ever after.
