Why Has Reed Really Returned to Genoa City?

The Young and the Restless can’t be either without a thriving teen scene.

Remember the good old days of Traci (Beth Maitland), Danny and Lauren? Cricket, Philip, and Nina? Victoria and Ryan? Nick and Sharon? Billy, Mackenzie, Brittany, Raul and JT?

Well, now it’s time for Victoria and JT’s son, Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu), to take up the mantle of resident troubled teen. He recently showed up on Victoria’s doorstep with a story about his dad moving out of the country, and wanting to live with his mom. But is he telling the whole truth? Here’s what over 3,000 fans think.

And Stay Out!
Teenage boys can be a handful. Reed’s dad certainly was. JT had a tendency to cheat on his girlfriends (including once with said girlfriend’s mother). He eventually straightened out, to the point where JT got custody of Reed over Victoria (Amelia Heinle).

JT wanted to keep Reed away from the bad influence of grandpa Victor (Eric Braeden) — and who wouldn’t — when he was younger, but maybe, as he grew, Reed started turning more and more into a chip off the old block? It seems 45% of you think JT could no longer deal with bad seed Reed and threw him out. Though, if that were the case, don’t you think he’d have at least given Victoria a heads-up, first?

A Run-Run-Runaway
Then again, living with a dad and a stepmother fussing over their own, younger children, could prove trying for a teen. Some 44% of viewers think that Reed ran away from home, jealous of JT and Mac’s focus on his younger siblings. But, again, if that were the case, wouldn’t you expect a frantic JT to have reached out to his son’s mother to see if maybe Reed had shown up there? No matter how busy he is with his wife, job, and toddlers, he’d have noticed Reed was missing, no?

Truth-Teller
It’s wacky, I know, but stay with me here. What if, as 12% suspect, Reed is telling the truth? Granted, it’s not very soapy, but it is possible. What if he really is in Genoa City because he doesn’t want to move to Poland. Even if the sausage there is to die for.
