The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, May 27, 2022, brings a heated moment between Summer Newman Abbott and Phyllis Summers. Plus, Chelsea Lawson goes off the rails and Kyle Abbott and Jack Abbott fall further into Diane Jenkins’s web.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) continued railing about Diane (Susan Walters). She asked her daughter Summer (Allison Lanier) to give Kyle (Michael Mealor) some advice. As Phyllis continued getting riled up, Summer finally called out her mom’s motives about it. As Summer saw it, Phyllis’s concern had less to do with Kyle and more to do with herself.
For her part, Phyllis owned that she hates Diane. Then, she also gave Summer a warning about how manipulative Diane is. She also worried about how Diane would affect Summer and Kyle’s marriage. Summer stayed firm in her declaration that she’s not going to interfere in Kyle’s relationship with his mother, which Phyllis thought was the wrong move.
Summer let her mom know about her and Kyle’s plans for Marchetti. Phyllis thought it was wonderful, and she was thrilled when she learned they’d be moving back to Genoa City. Of course, she had an issue with the timing and Diane. Summer insisted the whole thing had nothing to do with Diane.
Young and the Restless: Dee Dee
At the Abbot mansion, Kyle and Diane spoke with Jack (Peter Bergman). She accused Jack of trying to poison Kyle, but Jack called her out on it. Jack’s been above-board about everything and careful with the advice he’s given their son, and he’d appreciate the same courtesy from Diane.
Diane seemed pleasantly surprised to learn that Phyllis acted on her own to kick her out of The Grand Phoenix. However, she also told him clearly that she was on the up and up. Jack didn’t appreciate hearing Diane come up with her grandma name for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) — Dee Dee. After she left, Jack let his son know that Diane is still her old self. Diane is manipulating Kyle and the situation. So much for staying neutral, Jack.
Talk turned to business, and Kyle left Jack stunned by admitting he wanted Jabot to buy Marchetti. Jack wasn’t entirely sold on it given the direction the company’s been going lately.

Jack left Kyle, and he showed up at Diane’s door at the Athletic Club. He told her he planned to support Kyle’s decision to let her back in his life. However, he warned Diane not to hurt Kyle, and she said she’d never hurt their son again. Of course, she managed to get under his skin about loneliness.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Off The Rails
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) talked business at Society, and then Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) stormed in. She was on edge, and Adam seemed concerned. Then, Chelsea got snarky with Sally, and Sally pushed back. Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) finally showed up late for their meeting, and she and Sally moved to their own table.
Sally apologized to Adam for getting into it with Chelsea, but he understood. However, he worried that his ex-wife was having more than just a bad day. As for Chelsea, she yelled and yelled at Chloe, and it seemed like Chelsea was going off the rails. Chelsea lashed out at Chloe and left in a huff. Then, Adam walked over to ask his ex-wife’s friend and business partner how long Chelsea’s been acting…well…crazy. Chloe tried to reassure Adam, but she admitted that Chelsea had been attached to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
Y&R: Stress Crying
Kyle ran into Chelsea in Chancellor Park, and he asked her what was wrong. She appreciated his concern, but she brushed it off. She also said she’d try not to stress cry in public anymore, and the two shared a close moment. Chelsea swore to Kyle that she was better now, so he left her.
At The Grand Phoenix, Jack showed up. He and Phyllis engaged in their new favorite pastime — complaining about Diane and how she’s manipulating Kyle.
