The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, July 8, 2022, brings Adam Newman turning to the Dark Side — after a run-in with Ashland Locke — while Sally Spectra watches. Plus, Nick Newman makes a life-changing decision with Sharon Rosales’s help, Nikki Newman confronts her friend Jack Abbott, and Billy Abbott gets an interesting proposition from Chelsea Lawson.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Well, it was always only a matter of time, but it seems as if New and Improved Adam™ (Mark Grossman) is gone, and in his place is a version of his old self. Adam plummeted to the Dark Side again while Sally (Courtney Hope) watched in growing horror. Plus, what will she do about that little job offer she gave to Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson)? Heck, what about Sally’s own job?
Before their exchange, Ashland (Robert Newman) ran into Adam at Crimson Lights, reminding the younger man that they both wanted the same thing — Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to lose everything. Adam couldn’t disagree.
Young and the Restless: A New Hope?
Elsewhere, Adam’s brother Nick (Joshua Morrow) arguably also made the choice to return to the Dark Side, and he did it all under the advice of his ex-wife Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). That’s right, Nick plans to return to Newman Enterprises after all the fuss he made about not being part of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) empire.
Good news, though! That will give Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) more responsibility at New Hope, so…yay?!? Oh, and they mentioned the never appearing Christian Newman, so he still exists…somewhere.

Y&R Spoilers Recap: How Dare You?
After grousing about Adam to Victoria, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ran into Jack (Peter Bergman) at Crimson Lights, and she told him off. She complained that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is back in town with the support of the Abbott family. How dare they? How dare Diane? How dare you? Of course, Nikki also remembered that she had to worry about her own family too, so there was that.
Y&R: Podcasts
Finally, fresh off getting his dig in at Adam, Billy (Jason Thompson) was on Cloud 9 when Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) walked into Society. They sat down for a bit, and she had a proposition for him. Now that she’s ditched the fashion world, wouldn’t it be great if she helped him with his podcast? Given that his audience plateaued, Billy thought Chelsea might be onto something because…well, that’s neither here nor there…anyway, there’s more storyline to come for these two apparently.
Then, Victoria walked in as Chelsea left, and she had a proposal for Billy too — use your anonymous podcast to get revenge on Ashland. Seems reasonable. What could possibly go wrong?
