The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, April 1, 2022, brings many blasts from the past as Diane Jenkins explains herself to Jack Abbot. Plus, Jack and Allie Nguyen form a deeper connection while Phyllis Summers reveals her worries to Lauren Fenmore Baldwin about Jack.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Jack (Peter Bergman) wanted nothing of what Diane (Susan Walters) was selling. Even so, she explained that she had Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) help her fake her death by providing a body from the morgue.
Initially, she planned to take Kyle Abbott (now Michael Mealor) with her, but everybody was so furious with her that she fled on her own. Through lots of therapy, Diane felt like now she was doing well, and she wants to be part of her adult son’s life. Not surprisingly, Jack didn’t love the idea at all.
Diane tried to remind Jack that they’d have some good moments, and they both flashed back to times in their lives. One scene showed Jack proposing to Diane with a beautiful diamond ring. Yet another showed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) reading Jack the riot act over Diane being in their life shortly after he found out Kyle was his biological son.
Then, of course, there were scenes of Kyle as a baby and a young boy while his parents tried to hash out how they’d handle the situation. In one flashback, Jack also consoled a grieving Kyle after Diane had “died.”

Young and the Restless: Cinnamon Rolls And Bacon
A stressed-out Jack messaged Allie (Kelsey Wong) to meet again at the cafe, so she did. She seemed more relaxed than usual and open to connecting on a deeper level. Allie shared a bit about her dad while Jack explained how breakfast (complete with cinnamon rolls and bacon) played a large part in the Abbott family’s life.
He also reminded his granddaughter that they were her family too, which she seemed more willing to consider. Despite all the weirdness with Diane showing up alive, it seemed like Allie and Jack grew closer.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Love And Worry
Back in Genoa City, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) stopped by The Grand Phoenix, and she and Phyllis ended up having a long talk. Tracey explained a bit of Michael Baldwin’s (Christian Le Blanc) recent predicament without giving the secrets away, and Phyllis also vaguely discussed Jack’s situation.
Then, Jack called Phyllis and she could instantly tell something else had happened, but he told her not to worry. In the end, both Lauren and Phyllis realized that they loved the men in their lives despite all the worry they caused.
