Y&R Recap Highlights

Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) appreciated his mom’s good mood. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) made amends to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), and she started with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was once again rescued by Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) kept Diane Jenkins’s (Susan Walters) whereabouts secret, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) bonded, and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) got a terrifying surprise. Now let’s dive deeper into what happened.

Young and the Restless: Apology Tour

Adam showed up at Crimson Lights, and he wasn’t in the best mood when Sharon greeted him. Ultimately, Adam thanked Sharon for her advice on how to talk to Chelsea. He complained that he’d had a setback with Chelsea, and he’s not all that patient. Sharon encouraged him to keep with it — slow and steady.

Upstairs, Chelsea greeted Connor, and she could tell it’d be a good day. They talked about school, and Connor relayed that the bully from last week had been nice to him. Chelsea was happy, and Connor said he was happy to see his mom feeling better after such a long time of her feeling so low. Adam knocked on the door, and a cheerful Chelsea offered him pancakes.

Downstairs, Sharon was on the phone with Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). As she hung up, Chelsea, Connor, and Adam walked in, talking Crimson Lights treats, and Adam took Connor to school. Sharon talked with Chelsea, explaining that she had a new course of action coming, and it involved Sharon.

Chelsea explained she was following steps similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. Sharon was familiar, and Chelsea admitted that she held onto a lot of self-hatred. She realized to get rid of that feeling, she had to acknowledge the bad things she’d done, and Chelsea offered Sharon a heartfelt apology, which Sharon accepted. Sharon also let Chelsea know that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) forgave her too.

Adam walked in, and Chelsea asked him back up to her apartment. Upstairs, he wanted to know what made Chelsea emotional, and she said it was a good thing — she was feeling her feelings and making amends. Adam said he didn’t need any apology from her, but she insisted on saying her piece. He continued making excuses for all her misdeeds, but Chelsea owned up to all she’d done. She broke the tension by laughing and noting that emotions weren’t always a bad thing. Adam accepted her apology. He wondered if Billy was on her list, and Chelsea admitted he’d be her toughest apology.

Y&R Recap: When It’s Over

Billy ran into a not overly enthused Lily at Society, and he told her good morning since she’d left so early. She explained that she had a meeting, and Billy seemed surprised. Lily thought Billy was accusing her of lying. They talked about being two ships passing in the night. She wanted to know where Billy had gone the other night, and he said he’d run into Adam at Glam Club, and Lily wondered if Adam resented Billy’s involvement with Chelsea. Billy noted that Lily certainly resented it.

Lily thought they’d discussed things, but Billy wanted to know why Lily encouraged Chelsea not to rely on him. Lily denied that she did that, and she said Chelsea had no reason to blame her, and Billy said Chelsea wasn’t, so Lily thought he was blaming her. Lily said it was a misunderstanding, and Billy wanted to know why the whole thing troubled Lily, and she denied it. Billy asked Lily to be honest with him — did she feel threatened by his closeness to Chelsea.

Lily pointed out that Billy was gambling with Chelsea’s recovery — it was Billy’s latest high. Billy denied that. Lily expressed her concern, and she said she couldn’t do it anymore. In the midst of it, Chelsea texted Billy, and Lily wasn’t happy that Billy had distractions during such a difficult conversation. Billy tried to stay to talk, but Lily insisted he go check on Chelsea.

Daniel showed up after Billy left, and he immediately realized Lily was upset. She tried to leave, but he reminded her that he could tell her anything.

Billy showed up at Chelsea’s, and he was worried something was wrong, but Chelsea said she was fine. She explained that she was making amends. Chelsea apologized to Billy for what happened when she got pregnant with Johnny.

Y&R Recap: Tell Me Lies

Earlier, Summer showed off Marchetti to her brother Daniel. He wondered what was with all the security, though, and Summer blamed it on instances of corporate espionage. She turned their conversation to his pitch to Chancellor-Winters, and he couldn’t give details, but he noted that it was a reinvention of himself along with the platform. They discussed their children, and talk turned to Lucy, but Daniel didn’t say much.

Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) walked in, and she hugged Daniel hello. She asked after Danny Romalotti, and Daniel said he’d tried to talk his dad into coming to Genoa City for a bit. Daniel left, and Lauren told Summer she was worried about Phyllis and her vendetta against Diane. Jack walked up, and Summer announced that Diane no longer worked at Marchetti, and she hoped things would be peaceful without her.

Summer and Jack went into his office, and they talked about how to get rid of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). They discussed how to keep the story alive, and Jack warned that they had to be very careful to ensure Jeremy didn’t find out where Diane really was. Summer understood.

Elsewhere, Phyllis wondered if it was wise for she, Ashley, and Nikki to have their conversation at the Abbott mansion. Ashley reassured them, and Nikki expressed her concern that they’d gone too far with Diane. However, Phyllis encouraged them to continue plotting, and Ashley said Diane was gone, so their goal was accomplished!

They didn’t believe it, but Ashley said it was true — Diane left Genoa City. Phyllis wondered where she went, but Ashley didn’t care. Nikki wanted a pat on the back for running Diane out of town without hurting anybody. However, Ashley revealed that Jack had been hurt by their actions, but Nikki felt they’d done the right thing, and she predicted Jack may thank them for it in the future.

After Phyllis left, Nikki thanked Ashley for letting her see Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Ashley said she felt guilty over the little boy’s Didi, but Nikki didn’t. They hugged, and Jack came in with some snarky comments about them winning. Nikki didn’t find Diane’s departure tragic, but Jack didn’t let her blithely get away with it. He reminded both women that they’d broken Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) and Harrison’s hearts.

Phyllis knocked on the door, and neither Summer nor Jack seemed too pleased to see her. Phyllis tried to make small talk, and they eventually told her Diane left town, and Phyllis denied it had anything to do with her. Jack blamed Phyllis and insinuated that she’d called Jeremy Stark. Jack told Phyllis he hoped her vendetta had been worth it.

Jack left, and Phyllis took Summer to task over her anger toward her due to Diane. Summer said that she was furious that Phyllis brought Jeremy into their lives, but Phyllis insisted that Diane brought him. Summer didn’t accept that, though.

Summer flounced out, and Phyllis turned around to Jeremy Stark. She seemed fearful, and he admitted he was very persuasive when it came to the security guards. He was looking for Diane, and Phyllis said they weren’t friends and she didn’t know where she was. He knew Phyllis had called him, and Jeremy asked Phyllis to go somewhere to speak more privately.
