In the July 6 episode of The Young and the Restless, Mariah’s hidden guilt continues to put a strain on her relationship with Tessa, as she remains unwilling to open up about a troubling secret. Meanwhile, Phyllis secures an invitation to a high-profile event in France, raising questions about her true intentions. Tensions also rise around Cole’s health as Victoria grapples with her concerns for him, and Billy and Sally face the fallout from Phyllis’ latest confrontation.
What Happened on Y&R?
Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) spent the afternoon in the park, strumming their guitars together. It was a peaceful moment, but Tessa seemed distant. Daniel quickly noticed something was off and learned that Tessa hadn’t been sleeping well. She admitted it wasn’t their daughter Aria that was keeping her up, but Mariah (Camryn Grimes).
Tessa had been patient with her, but Mariah insisted nothing was wrong, despite crying every night. Tessa couldn’t accept this silence any longer. She thought it might be about Ian (Ray Wise), but this felt darker.
Daniel sympathized, recalling how he’d bottled up his own pain in the past, causing harm to his family. He advised that Mariah might just need more time, but Tessa was determined to help. She questioned if she should involve Sharon (Sharon Case), but Daniel warned that could make things worse.
Sharon Worries
At Sharon’s, she and Mariah had a conversation about Mariah’s recent behavior. Sharon praised Mariah’s work but gently reminded her of how much Mariah had been struggling lately, urging her to talk to someone about her trauma.
Mariah assured her mom that what happened was in the past and she wasn’t ready to share it. Sharon pushed her to find a way to deal with her pain before it consumed her. Mariah’s refusal to confide in anyone, including Tessa, left Sharon worried.
As Mariah left the house to clear her head, she remembered the time she spent drinking alone at a bar, when an elderly man had offered her a kind word. Tessa showed up in the park, but the conversation remained awkward. She tried to comfort Mariah, but Mariah remained tight-lipped, even as Tessa played and sang a song.
Victoria Worries
At the new ranch, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) had tea and discussed the tensions between Victor (Eric Braeden) and Michael (Christian Le Blanc). Victoria (Amelia Heinle) arrived, her concern about Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) health weighing heavily on her. She expressed fear over his pneumonia, but Nick and Nikki reassured her, hopeful he would pull through.
Victoria also revealed she planned to stay behind while they traveled to France, sensing that something more sinister might be at play with Dumas and Chancellor. Nikki and Nick did their best to ease her worries, but Victoria couldn’t shake her fears.

Dumas Who?
At the GCAC, things took a tense turn when Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) confronted Sally (Courtney Hope), who was having a quiet moment with Billy (Jason Thompson). Phyllis wasted no time attacking Sally, throwing accusations about her relationship and her career choices. She insinuated that Sally was only able to climb the ladder due to her romantic entanglements, a comment that stung.
Sally, unfazed, said that Phyllis was simply jealous. Billy returned and attempted to defuse the situation, but Phyllis wasn’t done. She made it clear that she’d be attending the upcoming Dumas party and made sure Sally knew it, even joking about coordinating outfits.
Sally refused to let Phyllis intimidate her. Billy wondered what Dumas was playing at by inviting Phyllis and vowed to get to the bottom of it, promising that it would be a “helluva night.”
Phyllis got the news that Amanda (Mishael Morgan) had successfully gotten her on the guest list for the Dumas party. Phyllis was thrilled and couldn’t wait to attend. As she spotted her son, she quickly ushered him off to a table.
Meanwhile, Billy and Sally continued to speculate about Dumas’ true intentions, and Billy made it clear that nothing would stop him from finding out what was going on. As Phyllis took her seat, Billy and Sally exchanged knowing glances, prepared for whatever Dumas had in store.
Daniel was concerned when his mom revealed some good news: she finally had her foot in the door. But what that meant for the future was still uncertain.
