The Young and the Restless recap for August 7 featured Claire and Audra’s feud coming to a head in a fiery confrontation that left Kyle on thin ice. Lily struggled with Victor’s bold idea to spy on Cane, while Devon warned her to walk away before things got worse. Adam found himself caught between loyalty and independence. Audra and Sally hashed out backup plans and power grabs of their own.
Lily Weighed Victor’s Shocking Suggestion
Still reeling from a tense video call with Nate (Sean Dominic), Lily (Christel Khalil) joined Devon (Bryton James) at Crimson Lights, both trying to process Damian (Jermaine Rivers) and Chance’s (Conner Floyd) tragic deaths. Lily blamed it all on Cane’s (Billy Flynn) obsession with control. She had no interest in seeing him again and made it clear she wanted nothing to do with him.
Victor (Eric Braeden) entered, and Devon invited him to join them. Their brief talk about family quickly gave way to business. Victor warned Lily that avoiding Cane might be the wrong move. He believed she might be the only person who could get close enough to figure out what Cane was really planning. If she could convince him there was still a future for them, she might gain the intel they needed to stop him.
The suggestion horrified Lily, but she couldn’t deny the logic. Devon urged her not to consider it, especially when their children were at risk. Lily insisted she wouldn’t be used—but also admitted she might be their only way in. As Esther (Kate Linder) arrived with grief muffins, Lily quietly contemplated the trap she might have to walk into.

Claire and Kyle Called Out Victor
Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) dropped in on Adam (Mark Grossman)at Newman Media. They wanted to buy his apartment and start a new chapter. Adam was hesitant, not wanting to stir the pot with “Pops” after finding fragile common ground, but he respected their independence.
That respect was short-lived once Victor showed up, amused by the rebellion. Claire didn’t hold back, accusing him of cruelty, manipulation, and using her grief as a weapon. She led Victor out and made it clear: he couldn’t control every home in Genoa City. Adam tried to defuse the tension, but Victor didn’t budge.
Victor claimed Claire knew nothing about love, called Kyle an opportunist, and redirected the conversation toward using Cane as a weapon against the Abbotts. Adam agreed, but warned that pushing Claire away would only make her dig in deeper.
Victor made a call to Cane, ready to set the next phase of his plan in motion.
Audra and Sally Made Backup Plans
Over at Society, Audra (Zuleyka Silver) vented to Sally (Courtney Hope) about Victor canceling Vibrante and demanding repayment. She’d done everything he asked, including trying to seduce Kyle, and still got nothing. Sally gave her a reality check: you play with fire, you get burned.
Still, Sally offered Audra a lifeline—if she became CEO of Abbott Communications, she’d bring her on. But Audra wasn’t looking to be rescued. She wanted her next move to be on her own terms.

Claire Exploded at Audra in Public
Just as they were settling in, Claire and Kyle showed up. He urged her not to engage, but Claire wasn’t about to stay quiet. She marched over to Audra and confronted her in front of everyone.
“I know what you tried to do!” she accused. Claire laid it all out. Audra played smug, accusing Kyle of being weak and claiming he was the one pursuing her.
Kyle shut that down quickly, calling her pathetic, but Audra wasn’t finished. She painted herself as the victim and claimed Claire was foolish to trust Kyle. Claire stared at Kyle, trying to process it all, while Sally dragged Audra out before things escalated even further.
Kyle begged Claire to tell him she didn’t believe a word Audra said.
