The Young and the Restless episode for July 14 featured an eventful and intense day in the maze as emotions ran high, dangerous secrets were teased, and a shocking attack left everyone reeling. Here’s a look at what unfolded.
Cane and Damian Face Tension in the Maze
Damian (Jermaine Rivers) and Lily (Christel Khalil) walked through the maze, their chemistry undeniable as they flirted. As they grabbed drinks, they crossed paths with Cane (Billy Flynn) and Amanda (Mishael Morgan).
The tension between them became immediately clear, and Cane bluntly asked if Lily and Damian were a couple now. Lily confirmed it, which did not sit well with Cane. Despite his discontent, Cane offered his best wishes for their happiness but assured Lily he wouldn’t bring up his feelings for her again.
Later, Cane pulled Damian aside for a private conversation. They walked through the maze, discussing their past. Cane revealed he’d decided to pursue redemption rather than revenge. Damian shared his deep regret about not having more time with his father, and Cane revealed how much he missed his own dad.
Their talk grew more serious as Damian opened up about the pain of seeing his mother sick, and Cane reflected on how a sick parent can change your perspective. But the conversation took a darker turn when Damian started feeling woozy from the drink Cane had poured him.

Lily and Amanda Talk Work and Relationships
Meanwhile, Lily and Amanda had a conversation about Cane. As they walked the maze, Amanda tried to push Lily for details about Cane’s intentions, but Lily wasn’t ready to share anything just yet.
Amanda, however, was concerned that Cane might be using people for his own gain, and she wanted to know what part she had been promised in the empire.

Phyllis Faces Her Own Struggles
Back in the maze, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) ran into Billy (Jason Thompson), who expressed his frustration with Cane’s hold over the group. Billy and Phyllis exchanged jabs about their past, with Phyllis taunting him over his inability to get a meeting with Cane.
The conversation turned to business, with Phyllis alluding to private discussions she’d had with Cane that Billy had no access to. But when Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) walked in, Billy couldn’t help but tell them that Phyllis had all the inside information on Cane.
Later, Phyllis found herself at the center of a tense moment when she was grilled by Nick and Sharon. They warned her that if Cane went down, so would she. Phyllis wasn’t concerned. She had a job offer from Cane.
Nick and Lily’s Growing Tensions
Nick grew increasingly frustrated as he wandered through the maze. He voiced his suspicions to Lily, further building the rift between them. As they continued to discuss Cane, the air was thick with unspoken truths and mistrust. Their conversation ended with Nick storming off to the bar.
Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) also got sick of the maze. They wanted to leave.
